Two apartment buildings facing each other, Papagou.

Two apartment buildings on opposite sites were constructed by the same company at the suburb of Papagou. Unfortunately, the clients and owners of the sites affected the architecture of the building in a remarkable degree and therefore both buildings were redesigned.

TWO FACING EACH OTHER APARTMENTS BUILDINGS, ON THE LEFT 34,VIZANTIOU STR AND ON THE RIGHT 31,VIZANTIOU STR

The design of the first building (31, Vizantiou str) was slightly modified from the initial drawings maintaining though the basic principles of the solution, while the second building (34, Vizantiou str) had to change a lot since the owners were seeking for a “Ziller building” with many decorative elements , moldings and neoclassical references. Both initial and final solutions which are shown come out of an unpleasant process.
