Chain of jewelry retail stores. Glyfada, Athens

The area of Glyfada, with the intense illustrations in commercial zones, required a dynamic approach to the facade of the store. The elongated shape of the facade helped this option, by allowing a second level, a second “scene”, where special emphasis was given with the sculpture of Stavros Bonatsou. The sculpture from polyester and the series of silk screens by the photographer Nikos Panagiotopoulos, having “time” as their subject, converse with each other while being organically integrated in the architecture of the space. Bonatsos rotating “daughter” references to those little dancers swaying to the sounds of old alarm clocks, incorporated into their base and framed by small mirrors, while Panagiotopoulos’ silk screens reveal once again the charm of the clocks’ mechanisms, that we used to open and get dazzled from the perfection and magic of those perfect components, which in a unique order they work together to give us the image and the sound of space.
